Influences
My current body of work engages with elements of memory, landscape and the intellect. In 2007 I undertook a field trip to the Pilbara region of Western Australia, where I revisted places I had seen as a child. The work developed from that trip explores the notion of a sense of place between the individual and the landscape. The work is inspired by the detail in the landscape and the broad ancient ranges. A place where some of the oldest dated rock are found. My drawings of the landscape act as template for the glass vessel, with the mark making on the surface directly referencing the act of drawing. As the work has evolved I have begun to further explore the Australia landscape.
